Catching Up!

I feel like I haven't posted anything recent in forever! We had a wonderful Christmas with my family! We shared so many memories and had a blast as we celebrated Jesus' birthday! It seems like Tripp changed overnight. He is crawling everywhere...fast! He pulls up on everything and is still trying to figure out how to get back down. The crib mattress had to go down to the bottom notch...this made me very sad. When he sees David he says "da da". He is on the move!
While I was home, I got to catch up with some of my best friends. This is Tripp's first play date with Langley! Kate (Langley's mom) is one of my best friends from high school!
Milma on Christmas eve with her babies! The annual Richter/Whitaker/Sachs Christmas eve party at Frank Richters!
Tripp looking at his Santa presents. He LOVED his tickle me Elmo and his rocking horse that makes horse noises!
Ellie was more interested in Tripp then what Santa brought her. Uncle Cord was helping Tripp with his stocking. Tripp wanted a bite of his big, juicy orange (when Cord was a little boy, he read a Christmas book where a little boy gets a big juicy orange in his stocking..ever since then he has always gotten one in his stocking)
Saddler Elizabeth got a new pink leotard, ballet slippers, and jewelry from Santa....which she just had to put on.
Tripp is just showing off his new boots from Santa... they were in his stocking!Heather seeing Judson for the first time after they checked him...ummm she doesn't even look like she's given birth!
Happy New Year Baby Judson!

Welcome Baby Judson!!

My brother Cord and his wife Heather had their fourth child on December 27th! I've been meaning to post for so long, but I'm just know finding time to sit down and collaborate my thoughts. I'm such a proud Aunt and was so honored to be in the room when he was born. He weighed 6lb. 4oz., 20 in. long (their biggest baby so far).
As many of you know, Judson stopped breathing 6 hours before they were to go home. They stabilized him and rushed him to the NICU. The last few days they've been running test to try and figure out what's wrong with him. So far they haven't found anything that looks too alarming. He has been throwing up his food and the doctors think that he may have severe reflux. This is a huge praise b/c reflux can be fixed with medicine. He is still in the NICU and they are still running test. Please keep Cord and Heather in your prayers. Heather's parents have the other kids with them in Hattiesburg. Cord and Heather are staying in a hotel room connected to the hospital so she can nurse every 2 hours. Please also pray that baby Judson will gain wait and continue to gain strength daily. They are trusting in the Lord for each moment. I know they appreciate and feel your prayers. Thank you!

I will be posting a recap from our holidays soon. Tripp has changed so much!!!! He is into everything.....he pulls up on anything and everything and crawls around the house constantly!

Tis The Season...

This past weekend we went to David's company Christmas party at the Chattanooga Aquarium. The food was awesome and the aquarium was open exclusively for our party. It was very cool walking through the aquarium after dinner. What a great idea for a Christmas party! Tripp stayed with Mom on Friday night and David and I stayed in Chattanooga for the night. I had forgotten what it was like to be just the two of us. We had so much fun! We did miss our little guy, though!

I'm laughing as I type this post. Saturday we headed to Guntersville to help my Mom decorate the tree. Mom and I attempted to take Tripp's Christmas card picture....Tripp was sitting on this antique red sled by my Mom's tree when he started to fall off. This picture is of me yelling "get him" while my Mom reaches for him. My camera went flying and Tripp unfortunately landed on his little head. Needless to say, this was the last picture. Out of about 50 pictures, I think I found one good one. Tripp is usually happy most of the time, but of course on the day I want to take pictures, he just stared at me and would not smile. Oh well!

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...(Christmas Tree Part 2)

We finally got our tree and house decorated last night! Here are some pictures for you to see!

This is my favorite part about our tree. It's obviously our tree topper. Dave and I have used this cross with the crown of thorns for our tree topper since our first Christmas together. It's a beautiful reminder of the reason our Savior was born.
It's so nice to shut the doors to our T.V. and just enjoy the fire in the fireplace and our Christmas tree.
Tripp loved the lights on the tree...which I'm sure contain lead paint!!! So much for enjoying that moment!

Before putting Tripp's P.J's on, we snapped some "hiney" shots by the tree! Oh, I could eat him up!

And Tripp filling up on some more lead paint.....don't freak Mom I stopped after this one!

One of my favorite traditions growing up was decorating our tree as a family! My mom gave us a new ornament every year with our name on it. When Cord and I got married, she packed up our ornaments so we would have something to put on our tree with our spouses. We still go home to help decorate my Mom's tree. My Dad is missed so much during this time. He loved decorating the tree and he always put the angel on top. Although I still love this tradition, it's just not the same without Dad.

Christmas Tree Part 1

We have been trying to get our Christmas tree since last weekend. Every time we would start out to go buy it , something would come up....rain, sick baby, sick momma, you get the point. We were heading out last night when a torrential down pour came. So tonight was the night! Tripp hasn't been feeling well and today at the doctor I found out that sweet pea has a double ear infection. He has been so good, you would have never known he was so sick. Anyway, I bundled him up and we went to get our tree. Don't worry he stayed in the car, except for the quick picture I snapped when we got home. (don't judge, I know I probably shouldn't have gotten him out, but he didn't mind the car ride to the Christmas tree place) We don't have it decorated yet, we'll do that tomorrow night, but here are a few shots of the "getting of the tree"! Dave's parents were passing through and stopped in to say hello. I will post pictures of our decorated tree soon!

Tripp with his Papa and Bella! Bella was giving Tripp kisses! Bella is the new addition to Mimi and Papa's family. They adopted her from Valerie and Tim (Dave's sister)

Are There Any Safe Toys?

Is it just me or does it seem like every time you turn around there is another toy on the recall list? I was talking with my sister-in-law Heather about this. She said that a lady just took her 6 year old and 6 month old in for lead testing and they both had high traces of lead in their systems. Tripp is 7 months old and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. I don't know what is safe anymore. There are NO regulations on lead paint in other countries...so how do we know that any toys from other countries are safe? I'm scared to buy any toys from other countries, namely China. I've been told that lead paint is in candy wrappers, plastic, metal, and wood. It's everywhere!! I have several small toys that hook on Tripp's "stuff".. you all know what I'm talking about...and they are always in Tripp's moth. He loves to play with them. They hook on his stroller, car seat, johnny jump up etc. Am I making my child sick? My mom and I where in Target the other day and we started looking at the toys and where they are made, 99% of them are made in China. Does anyone else worry about this or am I over reacting? Seriously, I would love some input on the subject. I would especially love some toy ideas for Christmas that are safe. See the toys in this picture...these are the kind that are always in his mouth...help???!!!!

Thanksgiving 2007

We went to Louisville to spend Thanksgiving with David's family this year. We had a blast and I took lots of pictures of course. I was so glad that my mom was able to join us in Louisville! Tim and Valerie hosted Thanksgiving dinner. Everything was beautiful and delicious!
My niece Landry giving Tripp kisses.
Tripp had his first biter biscuit over Thanksgiving...he loved it! Below I've included a clip!

I just love this picture!
This is Tripp's cousin Chapman. He was born 5 days after Tripp! They are going to be best buds!

Okay, now that I've posted this picture, I guess I'll have to use a different one for my Christmas card!

Welcome Valerie (my sister-in-law)

I'm soooooo excited my sister-in-law and best friend just started blogging today! Just so everyone knows, she told me she didn't see what the big deal was about blogging. She also said that she couldn't see herself getting in to it! Well, once again, another has fallen victim to the addiction we all call blogging!!!!! Yea!!!!!

Please disregard the big pregnant girl in the picture...this was the only recent picture I could find of Valerie! Check out her blog www.timvalandkids.blogspot.com or click on her name in my friends list! Welcome Valerie!!!!!!

Mary Burrett Wyatt

My college roommate and dear friend Mary Burrett got married this weekend. It was a beautiful wedding. Dave and I stayed with my brother, so I added some pictures from their house as well. Some of the pictures are from Mary's rehearsal dinner...which was amazing...lobster and filet!!!!My sweet friend Kimberly Teague Taylor was at Mary's wedding. It was soooo good to see her. She and her husband Drew are expecting a baby boy in early March! She looks amazing!
And of course my handsome husband!
I'm so glad my mom got to come to the wedding. She looked beautiful!
Dave and I couldn't have done all the "wedding events" without my sweet brother and sister-in-law! They kept Tripp all weekend long. Tripp had so much fun with his cousins Jeremiah, Ellie, and Saddler Elizabeth!
Ellie was a little Mommy to Tripp!
We "attempted" to take my mom's Christmas card picture of her grand kids this weekend. Tripp was taking a little break from pictures. I snapped this one...he loved the lights!

Great Weekend

We just got back from my mom 's house today. We had a great weekend with Milma! Despite the horrible Auburn/Georgia game, the weekend was great! These are just a few pics from the weekend. Tripp loves Mom and can't get enough of her. I missed blogging this weekend, but I'm afraid that I will be on the road again this Thursday. We're headed to Birmingham so I can be in my dear friend Mary Burrett's wedding. I promise to post pictures of sweet Mary's big day when I get back on Monday! Maybe something exciting will happen between now and Thursday so I can post again. Until next time...

Off to Milma's House!

We are headed to my Mom's house for the weekend. It's so nice to finally live close enough to home that we can just jump in the car and go! We hope everyone has a great weekend and War Eagle!!!!!! This is last year in New York! I have the most wonderful mother and I don't know what I would do without her! Love you Mom!
Tripp loves his bath and he loves to SPLASH!
